Two Boys Inn Hosted Trip (February 5 - 12th, 2018)

Two Boys Inn Update 9/15/17: Our friends on Andros Island in the Bahamas contacted us and thankfully there was no significant damage from hurricane Irma. Irma's eye bypassed Andros Island and made landfall further south towards Cuba. We spoke to the owners of Two Boys Inn this week and everything is all set for our hosted trip on February 5 - 12th, 2018. We still have a few spaces to go to fill this week so drop us a line if your interested in going. It's a fantastic trip!

This is an excellent time of year to target larger bonefish (shots at double digit bones) and there is no better place in all of the Bahamas, or quite possibly the world that will give you a better opportunity to catch bonefish over 10 pounds.

Experts in fishing for the 'big boys,' Two Boys Inn focuses on fishing the North Bight, Middle Bight and West Side of Andros Island. Along with the opportunity of bigger fish, there are also plenty of schools with 4-6 pound fish and many over 7 pounds. Captain Frankie Neymour (owner/operator Two Boys Inn) and his staff of experienced guides cover lots of water daily taking you to where the big bones hide!

The cost of the trip for the week is $2750 per person.

Two Boys Inn Hosted Trip Summary From May 2017

A successful venture all around, we really covered a great deal of water on this trip including the Bowen Sound area, the North Bight, Middle Bight and a large portion of the West side of Andros Island.  (On the West side, we fished from Spanish Wells all the way to Wide Open.)

Throughout the trip there were plenty of wade fishing opportunities (in only ankle deep water!), with many shots at tailing bonefish.  There were also excellent occasions to fish from the boat with both being incredibly productive and producing some incredible fish!

Along with your average size bonefish, there were plenty of bigger bones to cast to and we did manage one fish approaching the double digits.  We certainly spotted some giants too, especially on the West side.

Besides bonefish there was an ample population of barracuda and jacks, the jacks being in some of the deeper channel water.

One of the highlights of the trip, Mark G. landing a beautiful eight pound bonefish and forty minutes later a fifty pound tarpon!

Clients enjoyed a great week with good weather, skilled guides and the companionship of fellow fishermen out to catch the chrome!

Fishing:  Two Boys Inn encompasses a vast fishing area – the North, Middle and South Bights and the uninhabited west side. Comprised of winding channels, creeks and lush mangrove cays, the white sandy flats seem to stretch forever.

Roaming these flats are an incredible number of bonefish, many averaging 4-6 pounds with plenty of fish in the 7-9 pound range.  The North Bight is also where you will have your best opportunity for an unforgettable ‘double-digit’ bonefish, that is, a fish that weighs over 10 pounds.  So if you have always dreamed of a monster bonefish, this is the best area to accomplish that goal.

Although this is primarily a bonefish destination, there is also a very good tarpon fishery.  The preferred time for tarpon is April and May and they can be found on the west side flats and creek channels of the North, Middle and South Bights.  If you wish to test your skill against a tarpon, be sure to let your guide know the evening before, as he will need to bring extra gas and check weather conditions. There is also an extra fee of $100 per boat/per day ($50 per/person) to fish the west side.

As Owner/Operators of Two Boys Inn, Captain Frankie and Barry Neymour are also legendary Andros Island bonefishing guides.  With over 50 years of experience between them, it’s safe to say that no one knows these waters better.  Patient and enthusiastic, Frankie and Barry make for a great fish-filled day on the water.

Trip Packages and Pricing:  You will not find a more affordable Bahamas bonefishing option than Two Boys Inn. The 7-night/6 day fishing package is $2750 per person and includes all food, lodging, and guided fishing from a flats boat. To fish the west side, it is $100 per boat/per day or just $50 per person. (Rates are based on double occupancy).

Lodge Facility and Accommodations: Two Boys Inn can accommodate up to eight anglers in four air-conditioned rooms, each featuring two queen beds and a private bath. Meals are served “family style” in the dining room and bar where guests, guides and locals gather over ice cold beer and hot conch fritters to share some easy island camaraderie and trade tales of the day’s adventures.

Each morning Frankie’s wife Melinda prepares a full, made-to-order breakfast while you assemble your own lunch from a generous selection of cold cuts, fresh fruits, snacks, and beverages. At the day’s end you’ll be treated to happy hour appetizers, followed by Melinda and Frankie’s authentic Bahamian home cooking. Specialties include Melinda’s homemade soups and chowders, lobster, cracked Conch, grilled crawfish, pan-seared wahoo, steamed grouper or a tangy chicken BBQ, all topped off with a delectable dessert.

By keeping things on a simpler and more intimate scale, Two Boys Inn is able to offer an exceptional value while ensuring a world-class bonefishing experience in the “Big Bone Capital of the Bahamas.”

Two Boys Inn is one of our all time favorite trips.  Between the quality of fishing and the delightful Neymour hospitality, we have never been disappointed.  Many wonderful memories are created, new friends are made and certainly there is no shortage of fish tales to go home.  Some days there might have been many fish, some days with several really big fish and many days with a variety of species.  Each day is different and exciting and we’d love to share this amazing location/fishery with you!

Two Boys Inn Trip Summary From 2016:

Awaking to winds in excess of 30 mph, I thought to myself that this was going to be a very difficult day.  Fortunately, how wrong I was.  We met our guide Barry Neymour at the dock, and soon we were off for our day’s adventure.  After a short run in the boat, Barry started poling in about 2 ½ feet of water, which dictated the use of medium lead eyes on a size 2 fly.  Moments later Barry called out, “Bonefish, 2 o’clock, 80 feet!”  The bonefish were traveling towards us, and as I made my cast I intercepted them at about 60 feet out.  Three of the bonefish chased down my fly and in less than 15 minutes from starting the day I had landed my first fish.  Fantastic!  In the morning hours we fished to schools of 30-60 fish, but after landing 8 bonefish in the 4-6 pound range Barry suggested we try for some ‘bigger bones.’  This meant holding out and NOT casting to the large schools of fish, but instead, waiting for lone big fish.  It did not take long for Barry to spot a ‘big boy’ – it was out of range at about 120 feet moving parallel with the boat at ‘walking speed.’  Barry could see that the bonefish was heading straight for a shallow shelf, and that when it reached it, it was very likely to turn and head in our direction.  Barry poled out in front of the shelf and the bonefish did exactly what Barry had said it would do.  The fish came into casting range at 75 feet.  I cast the fly, leading the fish by about 10 feet – instantly the fish took the fly!  In about 5 seconds, all of my fly-line and half of my backing were gone.  Immediately, Barry started poling after the fish – at one point, nearly all of my 200 yards of backing was gone.  Eventually, the fish tired and I was able to bring in my biggest bonefish ever.  Barry estimated it between 10-12 pounds.  Later in the day I snapped off two fish that were even bigger!  Fishing with Barry was an incredible day – his knowledge of the fish and their behavior was impressive.  We will be back!
