REEL ACTION ALASKA LODGE
FLY FISHING REPORT
Kanektok River, Alaska
June 20, 2019
Fly fishing for King Salmon has continued to be very good with strong pushes of kings entering the Kanektok River. The fly fishing leopard rainbow trout has also been fun with lots of top water mousing action! The lodge is fully set up and ready for action and our first guests arrive this week. Our team of guides have been out scouting the river and swinging flies for kings and casting mouse patterns to leopard rainbow trout. While in the Togiak Wildelife Refuge Wilderness Area scouting areas for rainbow trout we came across this Lynx pictured below. A very rare and special sighting!
The weather has continued to be very nice and warmer then usual in June. We have had a mix of sunshine and overcast days with temperatures in the 60's and forcasted to hit a high of 73 degrees later next week. Below are some pictures from the past two weeks. We still have a few spaces remaining for our king salmon and rainbow trout season if you want in on the action!
Our standard package is a week long Friday to Friday 6 day / 7 night. For a full listing of our available weeks please click here. Please email us at info@reelactionfly.com or text or call us at 585-568-7335 (REEL) to check on availability.
We are also reserving dates for our Great Lakes Fly Fishing Trips in October, November, and December. We have a high repeat booking rate so please check availability early as many of our guests come back annually to experience these world class fisheries.
